Bloomsburg Falls to Pace University

BLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning but it wasn't enough as the Huskies fell to Pace University by a score of 9-4.
Bloomsburg jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Syrill Kress (Littlestown/Littlestown) that scored Matt Robinson (York/Red Lion).
The Huskies held the 1-0 lead until the top of the third inning when Pace's Joe Barracato tripled into right field scoring Andre Liscinsky. Barracuto was singled home by Brian Hollrah extending the lead to 3-1 in favor of the Setters.
Pace extended it's lead to 9-1 scoring two runs in the sixth, four in the eighth and one in the top of the ninth off of a solo homerun by Jack Cawley.
Bloomsburg rallied in the bottom of the ninth to bring the score to 9-4 off of RBI from Andy Bucher (Littlestown/Littlestown) and Rob Watlock (Plains/Coughlin). However, Kress stuck out with the bases loaded to end the rally for the Huskies.
Matt Reilly picked up the win for the Setters going eight innings giving up two runs on only six hits.
Kress led the Huskies going 2-5 with two RBI.
Bloomsburg (3-15) hosts Pace (11-5) again tomorrow in a doubleheader with game one starting at 12:00 noon.
